becoming a member

At Capital Living we see the importance of finding the right people for each house. We want you to feel at home and enjoy spending time with your housemates. We endeavour always make the right decision when it comes to who we invite to become a member. We have an initial interview process which allows us to get to know everyone interested in our rooms and then only view rooms we feel would be the best fit each individual. Find out more about our members and see if you would like to become one too!

1first contact

If you are interested in Capital Living fill out the enquiry form and someone from the New Membership Team will give you a call. In this phone call we like to discuss a little more about Capital Living and what it is we do and also get some basic information from you so it normally takes around 10-15 minutes. If there is a specific time you'd like us to call you, let us know!

2phone call qualification

This is a stage that everyone who is interested in a Capital Living house has to go through. We'll get to know you, find out what it is about Capital Living that you like/dislike and tell you a lot more about us and what it is that we provide. We try find out a little more about you as a person and assess whether you may enjoy living within our Capital Living community. This gives us the opportunity to suggest some properties that we think fit with your criteria.


We will book in viewings for properties that will be the right fit for you and your requirements. Even if there is only one room you are interested in we’ll try to show you a couple of rooms so you can have a comparison. It is important for you to make the right decision and giving you a feel for what else is out there is always going to help with this.

4reserve a room

You've seen a couple of rooms, you've chosen one you like. The next step is to take it off the market. Once you've let us know which room you'd like to reserve, we'll send a Room Reservation Link to you via email. Using this link, you fill out a quick application form and holding deposit of one weeks worth of rent which goes towards your first months rent. The room is now off the market and provided you fill out the rest of your details and pay the monies owed within seven days the room; it's yours. The security deposit is five weeks worth of rent and this gets protected with the Deposit Protection Service.

5check in

You've filled out all your information, paid all monies owed and your membership has been approved. Next step is to book your check in. This is where you'll meet your Member Services Executive and collect your keys.

6meet your housemates

When you book your check in we will email your housemates and ensure they are happy for us to share their numbers with you or vice versa. This is a good time to reach out to housemates and say hello! It's also a good idea to find out how the house currently works in terms of a bin rota and anything they do as a house that's worth you knowing.
